New Moon in Scorpio – Oct. 28, 2019, 03:38 UT

Monday, October 28th, 2019

The New Moon in Scorpio was exactly opposite Uranus in Taurus and in conjunction with 472235 Zhulong, the recently named trans-Neptunian minor planet. With Uranus involved, we can expect surprises, revelations and unexpected events. The meaning of Zhulong is still veiled.

472235 Zhulong is a scattered disc object discovered in 2014 and named in August 2019 from Chinese mythology. Its diameter is 233 km and orbital period around 420 years. Zhulong, the Torch Dragon, was a giant red solar dragon with a human face and scarlet serpent body. It controlled the day and night of the world by opening and closing its eyes. It is described in classic Chinese literature as shining a torch over “the ninefold darkness.”

I have just started to study 472235 Zhulong, and that is why my study below is limited, covering only the years 1950 – 1990. At this point nothing exact cannot be said about Zhulong’s astrological meaning. However, I found some interesting Sun-Zhulong personalities and events. Many of these examples seem to tell about the fragility of life, and how everything can change in a blink of an eye.

People born with their Sun in conjunction with 472235 Zhulong:

William Knox Schroeder (July 20, 1950 — May 4, 1970) was a Kent State University shooting victim. He has a triple conjunction of the Sun, Damocles and Zhulong in Cancer in his natal chart. Last summer Kent State’s May 4 Visitors Center was honoring his life with an exhibition titled “Bill: An All-American Boy.” When the exhibition opened on April 22, the Sun was in conjunction with Uranus in early Taurus and opposing Zhulong in the last degree of Libra, and the exhibition was coincident with the naming of Zhulong in August.

Robin Williams (July 21, 1951 — August 11, 2014) has been lauded as one of the funniest comedians of all time. He was suffering from severe depression and committed suicide. His Sun-Zhulong conjunction is in Cancer.

Iman (born July 25, 1955) is a Somali-American fashion model and actress. She became a muse for many prominent designers, including Gianni Versace and Yves Saint-Laurent. The latter has described her as his “dream woman”. Iman has actively been involved in a number of charitable endeavors. Iman has a quadruple conjunction of the Sun, Uranus, Huya and Zhulong opposite Chiron in Aquarius. Uranus and Zhulong are in late Cancer and the Sun and Huya in early Leo.

Kevin Spacey (born July 27, 1959) is an Academy Award winning American actor, producer, and singer. In recent years several sexual misconduct allegations against him have been made. He has the Sun-Zhulong conjunction in Leo.

Richard Linklater (born July 30, 1960) is an American filmmaker. Linklater is known for his realistic and natural humanist films, which revolve mainly around suburban culture and the effects of the passage of time. Several of his films feature the same actors filmed over an extended period of years. He has a triple conjunction of the Sun, Zhulong and Huya in Leo.

Wesley Snipes (born July 31, 1962) is an American actor, director, film producer, martial artist, and author. He has been training in martial arts since the age of 12. He served a three-year prison sentence 2010 – 2013 for misdemeanor failure to file U.S. federal income tax returns. Wesley Snipes has the Sun-Zhulong conjunction on the North node of the Moon in Leo, opposite Saturn in Aquarius.

J. K. Rowling (born 31 July 1965) is a British author, best known for writing the Harry Potter fantasy series, which is the best-selling book series in history. She also writes crime fiction under the name Robert Galbraith. Rowling has lived a “rags to riches” life in which she progressed from living on benefits to being the world’s first billionaire author. She lost her billionaire status after giving away much of her earnings to charity but remains one of the wealthiest people in the world. Her triple conjunction of the Sun, Zhulong and Makemake in Leo is opposite Juno in Aquarius.

Marine Le Pen (born August 5, 1968) is a French politician and lawyer serving as President of the National Rally political party (previously named National Front). The National Rally is a right-wing populist and nationalist political party in France. Marine Le Pen has a 10 th house stellium in Leo consisting of the Sun, Mercury, Rhadamanthus, Makemake and Zhulong.

Tarja Turunen (born August 17, 1977) is a Finnish heavy metal singer-songwriter. She is a lyric soprano and has a vocal range of three octaves. She is the former lead vocalist of the Finnish metal band Nightwish. Tarja Turunen was dismissed from the band with an open letter on 21 October 2005 for personal reasons. She started her solo career in 2006. Tarja Turunen has a stellium in Leo consisting of the Sun, Saturn, Rhadamanthus, Makemake and Zhulong.

Florence Welch (born August 28, 1986) is an English singer and songwriter. She is the vocalist of the indie rock band Florence and the Machine. In 2018, Florence Welch released a book titled Useless Magic, a collection of lyrics and poems written by Florence, along with illustrations. She has said: “I find it’s nice to mix the mundane and the magical, the irrelevant with the huge themes. Sex, love, death, marriage, guilt — mix that with seeing a huge sky or going for a walk or turning the page of a book. Living is dealing with the everyday and the notion that you’re going to die.” Florence has been open about her struggles with anxiety and depression, as well as with alcohol. Many of her songs reflect these issues. She has a triple conjunction of the Sun, Zhulong and Asbolus in Virgo.

Valtteri Bottas (born August 28, 1989) is a Finnish racing driver currently competing in Formula One with Mercedes, having previously driven for Williams. Since joining Mercedes, Bottas has won 6 races, 3 in 2017 and 3 in 2019. He will continue driving for Mercedes in the upcoming 2020 season. Bottas has a quadruple conjunction of the Sun, Makemake, Zhulong and Hylonome in Virgo.

Examples of events which occurred while the Sun was in conjunction with 472235 Zhulong:

August 8, 1969 — The Beatles have photographer Iain Macmillan take their photo on a zebra crossing on Abbey Road. The Sun was in conjunction with Zhulong and Makemake in Leo.

Full Moon in Aries – Oct. 13, 2019, 21:08 UT

Monday, October 14th, 2019

The Full Moon at 20+ degrees of Aries was in conjunction with Eris. Both the Moon in Aries and the Sun in Libra were in exact square to Pluto at 20+ degrees of Capricorn. Jupiter at 20+ degrees of Sagittarius received an exact trine from the Moon and a sextile from the Sun. In Capricorn Saturn is nearing Pluto.

This Full Moon is kind of foretaste of the slow moving aspects taking place in January 2020. Saturn will be conjuncting Pluto on January 12, and four days later it squares Eris. On January 26 Pluto squares Eris.

Eris is the trans-Neptunian object which downgraded Pluto from the planet category. Eris was discovered in 2005 and at the time appeared to be larger than Pluto. This led the definition of a planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union. Both Eris and Pluto were classified as dwarf planets. Astrologers didn’t take note of the IAU’s decision, and there are also astronomers who preferably would like to return Pluto among the planets. Eris is named after the Greek goddess of strife and discord. The dynamic square aspect represents conflict and demands change, and between these two “rivals” it is bound to be felt.

No matter how dark the situation seems, there is always some light ahead, and towards the light we must strive. In the Full Moon chart Pluto is in conjunction with centaur 10199 Chariklo. Chariklo is the largest centaur, with the diameter of around 250 kilometers, and the smallest known object to have rings. It is named after the nymph Chariclo in Greek mythology, the wife of centaur Chiron, and a daughter of the Sun god Apollo. Her name means “Graceful Spinner”.

10199 Chariklo was discovered in 1997, and there is a rare aspect configuration, a six pointed star, in the discovery chart of Chariklo. The star is formed by Chariklo itself in one of the points and main planets in the other five points. A six pointed star is consisting of sextiles, and thus also called a grand sextile. The pattern reflects balance and harmony.

Astrologically Chariklo is usually seen as a supportive and nurturing energy. It represents compassion and devotion, although darker manifestations can occur, as with any astrological object; astrology is dual in nature.

Jupiter in the Aries Full Moon chart is in exact conjunction with 174567 Varda, a binary trans-Neptunian object with the diameter of around 700 kilometers. The Moon’s trine to Jupiter alone can be regarded as a beneficial aspect, and with Varda even more so.

174567 Varda is named after the queen of the stars in J. R. R. Tolkien’s fictional mythology. Varda was the creator of the stars and she also set the vessels of the Sun and the Moon upon their courses. She is said to be too beautiful for words, and her face radiates light. Being associated with light, she is central to the dualism of light and darkness in Tolkien’s cosmology.
