Full Moon in Aries – Oct. 13, 2019, 21:08 UT

The Full Moon at 20+ degrees of Aries was in conjunction with Eris. Both the Moon in Aries and the Sun in Libra were in exact square to Pluto at 20+ degrees of Capricorn. Jupiter at 20+ degrees of Sagittarius received an exact trine from the Moon and a sextile from the Sun. In Capricorn Saturn is nearing Pluto.

This Full Moon is kind of foretaste of the slow moving aspects taking place in January 2020. Saturn will be conjuncting Pluto on January 12, and four days later it squares Eris. On January 26 Pluto squares Eris.

Eris is the trans-Neptunian object which downgraded Pluto from the planet category. Eris was discovered in 2005 and at the time appeared to be larger than Pluto. This led the definition of a planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union. Both Eris and Pluto were classified as dwarf planets. Astrologers didn’t take note of the IAU’s decision, and there are also astronomers who preferably would like to return Pluto among the planets. Eris is named after the Greek goddess of strife and discord. The dynamic square aspect represents conflict and demands change, and between these two “rivals” it is bound to be felt.

No matter how dark the situation seems, there is always some light ahead, and towards the light we must strive. In the Full Moon chart Pluto is in conjunction with centaur 10199 Chariklo. Chariklo is the largest centaur, with the diameter of around 250 kilometers, and the smallest known object to have rings. It is named after the nymph Chariclo in Greek mythology, the wife of centaur Chiron, and a daughter of the Sun god Apollo. Her name means “Graceful Spinner”.

10199 Chariklo was discovered in 1997, and there is a rare aspect configuration, a six pointed star, in the discovery chart of Chariklo. The star is formed by Chariklo itself in one of the points and main planets in the other five points. A six pointed star is consisting of sextiles, and thus also called a grand sextile. The pattern reflects balance and harmony.

Astrologically Chariklo is usually seen as a supportive and nurturing energy. It represents compassion and devotion, although darker manifestations can occur, as with any astrological object; astrology is dual in nature.

Jupiter in the Aries Full Moon chart is in exact conjunction with 174567 Varda, a binary trans-Neptunian object with the diameter of around 700 kilometers. The Moon’s trine to Jupiter alone can be regarded as a beneficial aspect, and with Varda even more so.

174567 Varda is named after the queen of the stars in J. R. R. Tolkien’s fictional mythology. Varda was the creator of the stars and she also set the vessels of the Sun and the Moon upon their courses. She is said to be too beautiful for words, and her face radiates light. Being associated with light, she is central to the dualism of light and darkness in Tolkien’s cosmology.
